Despite a lot of hoverboards having been made with quality components, and the battery packs meeting the certifications, the situation is still unclear because of the sheer amount of hoverboards coming from China with sub-par components.

You can still get a hoverboard online, and if you follow our guide, you’ll have UL certified components. But, you probably won’t find hoverboards in shops any time soon. Or, at least until the UL releases a new statement regarding the self balancing scooters.
