One of the most intriguing features of newer hoverboards is the ability to play music from your smartphone via bluetooth.
A lot of you have been asking for it, so here’s our Review of the Best Bluetooth Hoverboards!
How do Bluetooth Hoverboards work?
Hoverboards with bluetooth are exactly the same as regular hoverboards, except they also house a bluetooth receiver module and a pair of speakers.
The hoverboard bluetooth module simply turns on when your self balancing scooter is turned on, and the signal is “discoverable” until you connect the board to your phone.
What kind of phones do Bluetooth Hoverboards work with?
We’ve only tested our bluetooth hoverboards with iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S20, but they should work with any phone that has bluetooth and that supports music streaming via bluetooth.
How to Connect Bluetooth to the Hoverboard?
You simply go to your phone’s Settings > Bluetooth, and then select the hoverboard under “devices.”
The name that the hoverboard bluetooth will have varies from brand to brand, with some simply called “Bluetooth,” while others have names like “JKLK” or some other kind of weird name.
In any case, you’ll know you’re connected to the hoverboard, cause when you do, the board will beep.
How do you stream music to your Bluetooth Hoverboard?
All you have to do to start listening to your tunes is to open the music player app of choice on your phone. The volume is controlled on your phone, so make sure your volume isn’t turned all the way down on your phone if you can’t hear the music.
A Clarification
Some people call any “X-design” (aka “Lamborghini design“) 8-inch wheel a “Bluetooth Hoverboard” because, originally, those were the only hoverboards with bluetooth speakers. As you’ll see, that is no longer the case. Make sure you get the right wheel size for your needs when shopping for a hoverboard with bluetooth.
So, What’s the Best Bluetooth Hoverboard?
When choosing the best bluetooth hoverboard for your needs, the main factor you have to take into consideration is wheel size.
Nowadays you can get bluetooth on all “flavors” of hoverboard: 6.5 inch, 8 inch, and 10 inch wheel.
Let’s take an in-depth look at the best Hoverboards for sale with bluetooth.
UPDATE: Introducing the Swagtron T3
This brand new hoverboard by Swagtron features Bluetooth speakers, as well as some great new features!
It has three riding modes: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
Like the Swagtron T1, the battery is enclosed in their SentryShield aluminum enclosure, which prevents the battery from catching on fire in the event of an overcharge.
Being a little heavier than the T1, it also has a really useful built-in carrying strap.
The Swagtron T3 is one of the fastest, best built hoverboards on the market and it has quickly become THE bluetooth hoverboard to grab. It’s also one of the safest, being UL2272 certified and having the SentryShield!

The Best 6.5 inch Wheel Bluetooth Hoverboard
XtremepowerUS 6.5 in Bluetooth Self Balancing Scooter
The XtremepowerUS is one of the few 6.5 inch wheel boards with Bluetooth speakers. Or should we say, speaker. This is the only board we tested that features only one speaker.
This hoverboard features a 4400 mAh battery, and slightly less powerful motors (700 Watt instead of 1000 Watt) than those usually found on regular 6.5 inch hoverboards. This is probably to keep the overall range on a single charge on par with other 6.5 in wheel scooters, as the Bluetooth module is always on when the board is on—and that drains the battery. The hoverboard bluetooth module also lost connection to our phone on a couple of occasions, but never while riding the board.
Sound Quality
The sound from this hoverboard is very treeble-heavy, with mids and bass being a little drowned out. It’s reminiscent of a phone speaker in terms of sound signature, but it’s noticeably louder (due to a larger cone and driver).
Overall it’s acceptable and it definitely beats your phone’s speaker.
The Best 8 inch Wheel Bluetooth Hoverboard
Skque Electric Smart Balance Wheel with Bluetooth
The Skque is a nice looking hoverboard. It has 8 inch wheels, two stereo speakers and a 4400 mAh battery. Also the LED lights on the wheel arches are a nice addition, they display some interesting “patterns” when the board is on.
Sound Quality
The sound from the Skque is surprisingly good. Boomy bass, loud volume, it’s quite fun to ride around with a nice paced tune to keep you company. This makes the bluetooth speakers on this hoverboard a much more useful feature rather than an afterthought.
The Best 10 inch Wheel Bluetooth Hoverboard
Skque 10″ Smart Two Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter with Bluetooth Speaker
The Skque 10 is a pretty good hoverboard. It features two speakers and the 10 inch inflatable wheels we know and love. This board comes with a remote, and features a brand-name full sized 4400 mAh battery.
Sound Quality
The Skque 10’s speakers are boomy. So boomy, in fact, that most detail in the mids will be drowned out by the bass. The speakers are probably the loudest we’ve heard, but distortion may occur on bass-heavy tracks at maximum volume. This is probably your choice if you care more about loudness than clarity.
In Conclusion
It’s hard to say which one is the best bluetooth hoverboard amongst these. We can safely say that these are the best bluetooth hoverboards in their respective categories.
One thing to note is that all the Skque hoverboards ship from China, and will take a little while to get to you. Also, the manuals are in broken English and pretty much useless (thankfully you can find all the info you need on our “How to Ride a Hoverboard” guide). But, other than that, they are good quality boards made with quality components and certified batteries.
If you decided you don’t need Bluetooth Speakers on your Hoverboard after all, read our Buying Guide to see how to get a bit more bang for your buck.
