Are Self Balancing Scooters Waterproof? This is a common question we’ve seen time and time again, and the answer is “yes and no”.

Basically, while a lot of vendors advertise their hoverboards as waterproof, the IO HAWK, the Phunkee Duck, the Chich scooter and the like are rated “IP54” which is “Protection from splashing water”.

The self balancing scooter has delicate components, so you wanna make sure you try to keep it as dry as possible. Under very heavy rain, you may wanna walk instead. And definitely avoid puddles.

So, in short, Self Balancing Scooters are NOT waterproof.
